I'm Rita — Woman, Mother, Wife. A student of life and of the people who cross my path. A woman of many trades, in pursuit of making my dreams come true.

Ever since I was little, I've loved expressing myself creatively with my hands. At Christmas, I used to make little dolls out of paper rolls, scraps of fabric, and wool, to give to my grandparents.

I have a degree in Law, but I mostly worked with children, teaching Arts Workshop classes, where I put this creative expression to use.

Sitting in my paternal grandmother's lap, I learned my first crochet stitches and wove some potholders, so as not to burn my hands on the pots.

I kept this knowledge close to my heart, and its resurgence led me to pick up the needle and start weaving shawls, "like there was no tomorrow"! 😅

Over time, I realized it's not just a Shawl — it's a moment of connection with myself and of tranquility, where my heart beats in unison with the movements of the needle, and the piece is woven with the soul and love that my grandmother passed on to me.

Miss Xai was born from the desire to take this creative feeling further. Wrapped around one's arms, the shawl — created with intention — travels through unknown lives, bringing them joy and comfort.

Here, each piece is more than an accessory: it's a story made of love, tradition, and soul.

This is a dream woven by many hands and hearts; it's a way of honoring my ancestry.
